Eva Longoria’s Beso Restaurant Chain in Financial and Legal Hot Water!?

It looks like Eva Longoria’s Beso Restaurant chain is in financial and legal troubles. Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria and Celebrity Chef Todd English opened the Beso Hollywood Restaurant in March of 2008. It was named after the Spanish word Beso, meaning Kiss, and the prices are moderately affordable.
Beso Hollywood
The Los Angeles location has had enormous success since it’s opening almost 3 years ago. The restaurant merges an upscale Latin theme with a contemporary steakhouse. This location has become a Hollywood hot spot. Many celebrity sightings have been spotted dining at the LA Beso.
However, the Las Vegas Beso location filed for bankruptcy a little over a year after its opening at the end of 2010. The filling reported that Beso generated nearly 14.6 million in gross income over the first 12 months of opening but Beso needed to restructure nearly 5.7 million in debt and other liabilities. The restaurant is said to also owe the landlord 1.8 million, as stated in the lease agreement.

In addition, the Hollywood Beso is reportedly being sued for more than $25,000 dollars by Luiza Boyadijan who supposedly slipped and fell on the floor while celebrating her birthday.
According to reports, Luiza Boyadijan claims due to the fall she’s suffered major physical complications and damage to her nervous system, and believes the restaurant had an obligation to its customers to maintain safer floors.
It seems Beso just can’t catch a break in 2011!

Savvy Holiday Shopping Tip: More Steals and Deals After Black Friday

Savvy Holiday Shopping Tip
Silverthorne Outlets
For those of you that aren’t crazy about going out in the middle of the night in all the Black Friday madness, there are still more steals and deals that will be happening throughout the entire month of December.
This weekend, on the way back from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, I decided to stop at the Outlets At Silverthorne. Throughout the year, the outlets are known to have more sales and greater savings than in the department stores or the mall. During the holidays, in addition to the daily outlet savings, there are often sales on top of that.
Going holiday shopping is always the hardest for me. I always end up buying things for myself. One of my favorite stores is Coach. So of course I headed straight to the Coach Outlet. The entire store was 30% off the lowest ticketed price in addition to all of the other sales. Handbags that I previously purchased for over $300 dollars were on sale for $99 with 30% off.
I’ve always been taught to be a savvy shopper and just because something has a discount tag doesn’t mean it’s the cheapest or the best deal out there. Immediately, I fell in love with this red patent leather tote on sale for $150 with the 30% off.. Sooo with my smart phone, I searched coach.com for a similar purse and it was being sold for $378 with no discount.
Ralph Lauren had discounts up to 80% off. I was able to purchase two Ralph Lauren shirts for only $5.50 each, which were regularly priced at $25. Now you can’t even buy a nice shirt at Wal-mart for that price!
For those Gap Lovers, everything in the Gap Outlet was 40% to 70% off the lowest ticketed price in addition to the current discounts and other sales. The Gap Outlet also had a wide selection of premium denim jeans for only $25 dollars.
Fashionista be a savvy shopper, visit outlet malls and share with “First Class Fashionista” where we can find the best deals this holiday season! Let’s go into the New Year fashionable, but with more cash in our pockets than last year!

Black Friday Shopping Madness and My Best Buy Experience

My Black Friday Shopping Experience!
best buy black friday line
For as long as I can remember my family has shopped on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. To our surprise, Black Friday madness for many stores meant midnight openings. For those of us who shop on Black Friday every year, we know that this was about 5 hours earlier than usual. In my family, being the early birds that we are, the midnight openings were difficult for us. My parents and sisters opted out of being the first ones at the door buster sales this year. “It just wasn’t worth it”, they thought.
My boyfriend and I, however, went out to the Best Buy sale in hopes of getting the 42” Sharp LCD HDTV for only$199. After we ate our Thanksgiving meal and spent time with our family, at about 7 o’clock, we headed out to the closest Best Buy. We thought that being 5 hours early we would be able to get one of the best deals Best Buy had to offer. But, oh no! We couldn’t be more wrong! There were more than 200 people lined up around the corner already! There were people in line since the day before Thanksgiving, on Wednesday. So we decide to drive to all  the nearest Best Buys we could think of in Colorado and at everyone we saw the same thing.
This was my boyfriend’s first Black Friday shopping experience! I didn’t want him to miss out. So the last Best Buy we drove to at about 11pm, 1 hour before opening, we decided to stay. When the doors opened, it was complete madness! People were pushing, shoving, yelling and cursing! It was so much chaos, we even expected a fight to break out.
There were only 10 42” Sharp TVs, but there were many more sales. We ended up buying a 46” LCD HDTV for about $450 dollars. I can remember a time when my family paid just over $1000 for a 42” Plasma TV and thought it was a great deal. By the time we got into to the store, the computer shelves were completely empty and most of the TVs were gone.
To me, Black Friday is mostly about the experience and the rush of people all lining up for the stores to open. There are some great deals out there, but is it really worth it to sit outside a store for 2 days to save a couple hundred dollars? Is it worth it to miss Thanksgiving with your family?
For me, I don’t think so. Feel Free to share your Black Friday experience with “First Class Fashionista”. What time did you go shopping? Get any amazing deals?
